I registered for the CAD File Library and have not yet received a username/password via e-mail.

The e-mail sent out to CAD Library registrants is an automatically generated e-mail, it does not come from a personal e-mail address. Because of this, some companies will view the e-mail as spam. Therefore, it will be deleted before ever being sent to the registrant. If you do not receive your username and password within a 2 hour time limit, please send an e-mail to webadministrator@penn-eng.com.

What browser best supports the CAD File Library?

You should use Internet Explorer version 5 or higher. Parts can be downloaded and inserted using Netscape Navigator, but the direct insert is not fully supported.

After successfully logging into the CAD File Library, the left pane of my browser states "please enable Java virtual machine."

This issue tends to occur when the workstation does not have and/or is not using a current version of Java applet software. Please see instructions below on how to obtain a free download of this software, which is required for our application to work and display properly.
1. Go to the JAVA download page at: http://www.java.com
2. Click on the "Download Now" button underneath Java Software Free Download on the left hand side of the homepage.
3. Follow instructions and prompts to complete the download.
4. Once the download is done, you can check to make sure that Java is enabled under your IE browser by doing the following:
5. Open a browser window and select the options: Tools -Internet Options - Advanced - make sure that "JIT compiler for virtual machine is enabled" is checked, this may require you to restart your machine.

After successfully logging into the CAD File Library, how do I specify the type of file that I would like to download?

Before searching for a part, you must first click on the "Formats/Options" button located at the top left hand side of the toolbar. Here you can specify the desired CAD file format and available file options.

When trying to download cad drawings a security warning appears, how should I proceed?

Before a part can be displayed for the first time, a security warning will appear. You'll need to confirm this with a "YES". It is best to check the field for "Always trust content from web2CAD AG."

After successfully choosing the part that I would like to download, I am not able to specify the format that I would like to receive the drawing in. (i.e. I am only able to download a .dxf file, I can not change it to an .iges file.)

Close your browser and open up a new one. At the top of the browser, click on "Tools" and then click on "Internet Options." Under Temporary Internet Files, delete your cookies and delete your files. You should now be able to specify different download options.
